Variation in desiccation and starvation resistance of wild and domesticated Qfly populations. Data are presented as survival times in hours in the presence (desiccation) and absence (starvation) of desiccant (silica gel beads). Standard errors of survival times were on average 11.30 and 5.37 for starvation, and 5.76 and 6.08 for desiccation, in the wild and domesticated populations respectively. The format of the figure otherwise follows Fig. 2
